Greater Noida West, Greater Noida

Greater Noida West is the north-western arm of Greater Noida. Developers first sold it under the label "Noida Extension" to distinguish it from neighbouring Noida, and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) later made "Greater Noida West" the official name. Even though it lies just across the Hindon river from Noida, the area is planned and serviced by GNIDA, not by the Noida Authority.

The zone covers roughly 3,635 hectares and includes Sectors 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 12, 16B and 16C, the Tech Zone pockets and Knowledge Park V. Much of this land was once farmland of villages such as Bisrakh, Shahberi, Haibatpur, Itaida and Patwari. Today the skyline is made up mostly of high-rise group housing societies built by a long list of developers, including Gaursons, ATS, ACE, Mahagun, Panchsheel and Nirala.

Gaursons' Gaur City township, spread over about 237 acres across Sector 4 and Sector 16C, was among the first projects here to get completion certification and hand over flats. It has its own CBSE school, a sports complex and Gaur City Mall, which stands at Gaur Chowk, one of the area's main junctions. Healthcare has grown alongside the housing: Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital in Noida Extension reports 450 beds and JCI accreditation, and Sarvodaya Hospital runs a 220-bed multispecialty facility in Greater Noida West.

Public transport remains the main gap, because the area still has no metro line. A shortened Aqua Line extension from Noida Sector 51 to Greater Noida West Sector 4, with stations at Noida Sectors 61, 70, 122 and 123 and Greater Noida Sector 4, was cleared by the Public Investment Board in July 2026 and was awaiting Union Cabinet approval as of September 2026. NMRC expects roughly two years of construction once approvals are in place, so residents will depend on roads and private transport for some time.
