About Sector 16C, Greater Noida
Sector 16C is part of Greater Noida West, the zone formerly marketed as Noida Extension, and is administered by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). It is not a sector of Noida, although project brochures sometimes use the Noida Extension name.
The sector is closely tied to Gaursons' Gaur City, a township of about 237 acres that stretches across Sector 4 and Sector 16C. Gaur City was planned around the idea of walking to school, work and play, and its facilities include Gaurs International School (a CBSE school running up to class 12), Gaur City Mall with a nine-screen multiplex, a sports complex with a stadium, a club with a pool, a temple and commercial areas. The developer says Gaur City was the first project in Greater Noida West to receive completion certification and hand over homes.
Beyond the township, residents use Greater Noida West's hospitals, such as Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital in Noida Extension and Sarvodaya Hospital. The main weakness is transit. There is no metro in Greater Noida West today. The planned Aqua Line extension ends at Greater Noida West Sector 4, the other sector that the Gaur City township covers; it was cleared by the Public Investment Board in July 2026 and was awaiting Union Cabinet approval as of September 2026.
