About Yamuna Expressway, Greater Noida

The expressway opened in August 2012 and is operated by Jaypee Infratech under a build-operate-transfer arrangement with YEIDA. The biggest recent change is Noida International Airport at Jewar, which was inaugurated in March 2026 and started commercial flights on 15 June 2026.
Near the Greater Noida end sits Jaypee Greens Sports City, home to the Buddh International Circuit, which hosted Formula One's Indian Grand Prix from 2011 to 2013. Galgotias University is in Sector 17A, across the road from the circuit. Gaursons' Gaur Yamuna City, a 250-acre township, is on this stretch too, and YEIDA's planned projects include a Film City in Sector 21 and a Medical Device Park.
Much of the corridor is still being built out, so shops, public transport and completed social infrastructure are thinner than in older parts of Greater Noida.
