Whitefield, Bengaluru

Whitefield is in east Bengaluru, at the end of the Purple Line. It was founded in the 1880s as a settlement for Anglo-Indian and European families and stayed a quiet village until the International Tech Park Bangalore (ITPL) opened in the 1990s. Today it runs from Hoodi and Mahadevapura in the west to Kadugodi in the east, with Brookefield and Kundalahalli to the south and Hope Farm and Channasandra to the north. It falls within the Greater Bengaluru Authority, which replaced BBMP in 2025.

Whitefield is one of the city's main IT hubs, with ITPL, the EPIP zone and many other tech parks. Malls are close at hand, including Phoenix Marketcity on Whitefield Road, VR Bengaluru and Nexus Shantiniketan, and hospitals include Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences. The Purple Line was completed to Whitefield (Kadugodi) in 2023, giving a direct train to MG Road and Majestic, and Whitefield railway station has intercity and local trains. Roads such as ITPL Main Road and Varthur Road remain crowded at peak hours, and water and drainage have struggled to keep up with growth.

Housing ranges from mid-segment apartments to large villa communities. IndiProp lists 13 projects. Provident Botanico (from about ₹89.9 lakh), Prestige Glenbrook (₹45 lakh), Godrej Splendour (₹75 lakh) and Assetz Bloom and Dell (₹1.48 crore) are due between March and December 2027. Prestige Lavender Fields and Assetz Marq 3.0 were due in June 2026, and Sobha Windsor, Prestige Waterford, Prestige Fontaine Bleau, Prestige Dolce Vita, Birla Alokya and Brigade Woods earlier still, so they are complete or in handover. Brigade Cosmopolis, from about ₹2.7 crore, has no possession date listed. Older prices may be dated.
