Yelahanka, Bengaluru

Yelahanka is in north Bengaluru on Bellary Road (NH 44), the main route to Kempegowda International Airport. It was an old town before the city reached it, and it now includes Yelahanka Old Town, Yelahanka New Town and the areas around them. Jakkur and Hebbal are to the south, Vidyaranyapura and the GKVK campus to the south-west, Puttenahalli and Doddaballapur Road to the north-west, and the airport side, including Chikkajala, to the north. The core is within the Greater Bengaluru Authority, under the Bengaluru North City Corporation, and newer projects on the edges are often outside it.

The area has a long institutional history. Air Force Station Yelahanka, the venue of the Aero India show, is here, as are the Rail Wheel Factory and Yelahanka Junction, a railway junction on the lines towards Hindupur and Doddaballapur. Yelahanka Lake and Puttenahalli Lake are among its open spaces. Airport access is the main draw for newer buyers, along with Manyata Tech Park and the Hebbal offices to the south. There is no metro yet; the Blue Line from KR Puram to the airport, with a Yelahanka station, is under construction. Bellary Road is fast outside peak hours, but the approaches through Hebbal can be slow.

Housing ranges from older independent houses in the old and new towns to gated apartments and villa projects further out. IndiProp lists three projects. Prestige Dew Drops, priced from about ₹5 crore, had possession due in January 2026. Sobha Palm Court, from about ₹1.44 crore, was due in December 2022, and Godrej Avenues, from about ₹36 lakh, in May 2021. All three are complete or in handover, and the listed prices may be dated, so confirm current rates with the developers.
