Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru

Bannerghatta Road runs south from Dairy Circle, past Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, IIM Bangalore, Arekere, Hulimavu and Gottigere, to Bannerghatta National Park. JP Nagar lies to the west of its inner stretch and BTM Layout, Bilekahalli and Begur to the east. Up to about Gottigere it is within the Greater Bengaluru Authority; the last stretch towards Bannerghatta is in Anekal taluk, planned under BMRDA.

The road combines established neighbourhoods with newer development. Its inner part has some of the city's major hospitals, including the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, Fortis and Apollo, and malls such as Vega City and Royal Meenakshi. IIM Bangalore's campus is a local landmark. Offices along the road and on the ORR near Silk Board provide jobs. The Pink Line metro is being built along the road, and its elevated section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere was in final safety inspection in 2026; check whether it is running before relying on it. Until then, traffic is the main complaint, particularly at Jayadeva and near Hulimavu.

Housing ranges from apartments in the inner stretch to villa and plotted projects near the national park. IndiProp lists three projects, all complete. Prestige Elysian, from about ₹1.2 crore, had possession due in December 2022. Purva The Sound of Water, from about ₹4.8 crore, was due in October 2019, and Purva Smiling Willows, from about ₹3.49 crore, in May 2019; the latter sits well south, towards Bannerghatta. Listed prices may be dated, so confirm current rates with the developers.
