Begur, Bengaluru

Begur is an old village in south-east Bengaluru, west of Hosur Road, that has become a residential suburb. Bommanahalli and Hongasandra are to the north, Hulimavu and Bannerghatta Road to the west, Singasandra and Hosa Road to the east, and Electronic City to the south-east. Begur Road connects it to Hosur Road at Bommanahalli, and the Begur-Koppa road runs south. It falls within the Greater Bengaluru Authority, under the Bengaluru South City Corporation.

Begur is one of the older settlements in the area. Its lake and old temples predate the city's southward growth, and inscriptions found here are among the earliest records to mention Bengaluru by name. Around that core, farmland has been replaced over the last two decades by layouts and gated apartment projects. The appeal is location: Electronic City, the ORR at HSR Layout and Bannerghatta Road are all within reach, and the Yellow Line metro on Hosur Road, open since August 2025, has stations a short ride away at Hongasandra and Singasandra. The weak points are Begur Road, which is narrow and congested for its traffic, and patchy civic infrastructure in the newer layouts.

Buyers are largely IT professionals working in Electronic City and on the ORR, plus families moving out from BTM Layout and Bommanahalli for more space. IndiProp lists two projects. Assetz Canvas and Cove was priced from about ₹1.18 crore, with possession due in August 2026, so it is now complete or in handover. Prestige Song of the South Phase 2, priced from about ₹81.6 lakh, was due in May 2022 and is ready to move into. Confirm current prices with the developers, since both listings may be dated.
