Mira Road, Mumbai

Mira Road is north of Dahisar, just outside Mumbai's municipal limits, in Thane district. It is part of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation area, with Bhayandar to the north-west, Sanjay Gandhi National Park to the east and the Dahisar river and check naka to the south. The Western Express Highway runs along its eastern side, and Mira Road station is on the Western line.

The area grew quickly from the 1990s as a lower-priced option for people working in the western suburbs. Most homes are in mid-rise and high-rise societies built over the last three decades, with large townships on the eastern side near the highway. Shopping streets, schools and hospitals serve the local population, and Wockhardt Hospital has a branch here. Buyers are mainly first-time buyers and salaried families who want more space for their budget than Mumbai city offers, and many commute daily to Borivali, Malad, Goregaon or Andheri.

Transport is improving. Metro Line 9 opened its first section, from Dahisar East to Kashigaon in Mira Road, in April 2026, connecting with Lines 2A and 7 at Dahisar East; the extension towards Bhayandar is under construction. Mira Road station has slow and fast trains, though trains are crowded at peak hours.

It is shown as ready to move, and the price should be confirmed. The long daily commute and traffic at the Dahisar check naka are the main trade-offs, and water supply has been a recurring civic issue.
