Vikhroli, Mumbai

Vikhroli is in the eastern suburbs between Ghatkopar to the south and Kanjurmarg to the north. The Central line divides it into Vikhroli West, along LBS Marg and Kannamwar Nagar, and Vikhroli East, which runs to the Eastern Express Highway and the mangroves along Thane Creek. The Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road ends here and crosses to Powai and the western suburbs.

Much of Vikhroli East belongs to the Godrej group, whose Pirojshanagar township has housed its factories, offices and staff housing since the 1940s. The group has kept large areas of mangrove along the creek. Over the last decade, parts of the Godrej land and other industrial plots have been developed into offices and residential towers. Kannamwar Nagar, one of the city's large public housing colonies, is in Vikhroli East, while Vikhroli West has older societies and new towers along LBS Marg. Buyers include professionals working in Vikhroli, Powai and BKC, and families from the eastern suburbs.

Vikhroli station is on the Central line's slow route. Metro Line 4, along LBS Marg from Wadala to Thane, will have stations at Vikhroli, Godrej Company and Shreyas Cinema, and Metro Line 6 along JVLR will end here; both are under construction. The Eastern Express Highway runs south to Ghatkopar and north to Thane.

Prices should be confirmed. LBS Marg is slow during metro work.
