Dahisar, Mumbai

Dahisar is the northernmost suburb within BMC limits on the western side. Borivali lies to the south, Mira Road to the north across the Dahisar check naka, and Sanjay Gandhi National Park to the east. The Dahisar river runs through it, and the Western Express Highway leaves the city here for Mira-Bhayandar and Thane district.

The area is quieter and more affordable than suburbs further south. Dahisar West has older societies close to the station and along SV Road, while Dahisar East has newer towers along the highway and near Ovaripada and Rawalpada. Many residents commute to Borivali, Malad, Goregaon and Andheri. Families moving from Borivali or Kandivali for larger homes at lower prices make up much of the demand.

Dahisar East is a metro junction. Line 2A runs south along Link Road to Andheri West, Line 7 runs along the Western Express Highway to Andheri East, and the first section of Line 9, from Dahisar East to Kashigaon in Mira Road, opened in April 2026. Dahisar station is on the Western line. The toll plaza on the highway at the city limit slows traffic at peak hours.
