Prabhadevi, Mumbai

Prabhadevi is in central Mumbai, between Dadar to the north, Worli to the south-west and Lower Parel and Parel to the south-east. It takes its name from the Prabhadevi Temple, and it is home to the Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, one of the most visited temples in the city. Appasaheb Marathe Marg and Veer Savarkar Marg are the main roads, and the coast runs along its western edge.

The area has changed a great deal in recent decades. Once a mix of chawls, small mills and old buildings, it now has tall residential towers, bank and corporate offices, and the Ravindra Natya Mandir auditorium. It sits between the business districts of Lower Parel and Worli and the older neighbourhoods of Dadar, which makes it popular with senior professionals and business families who want a central address. New supply is mostly high-rise, on former industrial land or through redevelopment of old buildings.

Siddhivinayak station on Metro Line 3 is here, and the Aqua Line has been fully open since October 2025, linking Prabhadevi with BKC, the airport and Cuffe Parade. Prabhadevi station, earlier called Elphinstone Road, is on the Western line; the old Elphinstone bridge to Parel is being rebuilt as part of the Sewri-Worli elevated connector. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link and the Coastal Road are close.
