Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru

Rajarajeshwari Nagar, usually shortened to RR Nagar, lies in south-west Bengaluru between Mysore Road and the Bangalore University campus at Jnanabharathi. Kengeri is to its south-west, Nagarbhavi and Ullal to the north, and Banashankari 3rd Stage to the east. It was a separate city municipal council until 2007, when it joined BBMP; today it is under the Greater Bengaluru Authority. The area takes its name from the Rajarajeshwari temple, still its main landmark.

RR Nagar is a largely residential suburb of independent houses and plotted layouts, with apartment blocks added along its main roads and towards Kengeri. It has a settled, middle-class feel, with plenty of schools, the RajaRajeswari Medical College on Mysore Road and the green Jnanabharathi campus next door. The Purple Line metro on Mysore Road has a Rajarajeshwari Nagar station, which makes Majestic and MG Road an easy ride. Jobs are more scattered than in the east, though Global Village Tech Park at Mylasandra and the Mysore Road industrial belt are close.

Buyers tend to be families who want space and a quieter pace than the IT east, including many who already have roots in south Bengaluru. IndiProp lists one project here, Birla Ojasvi, priced from about ₹1.5 crore with possession due in December 2028. That is more than two years away, so check the RERA registration and the construction schedule before booking. Traffic on Mysore Road and around the RR Nagar arch can be slow, but the metro gives a dependable alternative.
