Greater Bengaluru Authority (Bengaluru East City Corporation area · 1 new project · 3 BHK
KR Puram, short for Krishnarajapuram, is in east Bengaluru where Old Madras Road meets the Outer Ring Road. The cable-stayed flyover at the junction, often called the KR Puram hanging bridge, is its main landmark. Ramamurthy Nagar and Banaswadi are to the north-west, Mahadevapura and Hoodi to the south-east, Tin Factory and Baiyappanahalli to the west, and Battarahalli and Medahalli along Old Madras Road to the east. It gives its name to an assembly constituency and is under the Bengaluru East City Corporation within the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
KR Puram grew as a transport town. Krishnarajapuram railway station is a major stop on the Chennai line, and the Purple Line has a KR Puram station connecting Whitefield to MG Road. It will also become an interchange with the Blue Line, which is under construction along the ORR to Silk Board and on to the airport. Bagmane Tech Park and the Whitefield offices are close, and Phoenix Marketcity is on Whitefield Road in Mahadevapura. The flip side is congestion: the Tin Factory and KR Puram junctions are among the slowest points in the city, and the older parts are dense.
The housing stock is a mix of older independent houses, small apartment buildings and gated projects along the ORR and Old Madras Road. Buyers include IT workers from Whitefield and Manyata and families wanting good rail and metro links. IndiProp lists one project here, Shriram Blue, which was priced from about ₹1.15 crore. Its possession was due in January 2022, so it is complete and ready to move into. The listed price may be dated, so confirm current rates with Shriram Properties.
