Indiranagar, Bengaluru

Indiranagar is in east Bengaluru, between Old Madras Road to the north and Old Airport Road to the south. HAL 2nd Stage, Domlur and Jeevan Bima Nagar are its neighbours, with Halasuru to the west and CV Raman Nagar to the north-east. It was laid out by the Bangalore Development Authority in the late 1970s and named after Indira Gandhi.

The area has two faces. Its inner roads are quiet residential streets with independent houses, while 100 Feet Road, 12th Main and CMH Road are lined with restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops that draw people from across the city. Offices at Embassy Golf Links and on Old Airport Road are nearby, and hospitals include Chinmaya Mission Hospital and Manipal Hospital on Old Airport Road. The Purple Line metro has run through Indiranagar since 2011, with the Indiranagar station on CMH Road connecting to MG Road and Whitefield. The main roads are busy at most hours and parking is tight.

Housing is mostly independent houses on BDA plots, many rebuilt as low-rise apartment buildings and builder floors, with few large projects because land is scarce. Prices are among the highest in the city. Buyers are established families, senior professionals and NRIs who want a central location with a metro station.

IndiProp lists 1 project in Indiranagar: Godrej Athena by Godrej Properties, with 2 and 3 BHK apartments. It is under construction, with possession due in January 2027, and is listed from about ₹2.25 crore. New projects of this size are rare in Indiranagar, which is worth weighing against the price.
