Fursungi, Pune

Fursungi (also spelt Phursungi) is on Pune's south-eastern edge, south of Hadapsar along the Pune-Saswad road, with Manjari to the north and Uruli Devachi to the south. Unusually, it has left a municipal corporation rather than joined one. Fursungi and Uruli Devachi were brought into the Pune Municipal Corporation in 2017, but residents argued that they paid higher property tax without better roads, water or waste services. On 11 September 2024 the state notified their removal from PMC and the creation of a joint Phursungi-Uruli Devachi Municipal Council, and building permissions have since passed to the council.

The employment pull comes from Hadapsar next door: Magarpatta City, Amanora and the offices along the Solapur highway and Saswad road are all within a short drive. That is why developers have targeted budget buyers here. IndiProp lists 3 projects in Fursungi. Majestique Landmarks has Majestique Nest and Majestique Aqua, both with compact 1 and 2 BHK flats, and Kumar Properties has Kumar Park Infinia with larger 2 and 3 BHK homes.

Fursungi suits first-time buyers who work in Hadapsar or Magarpatta and want a lower entry price. The trade-offs are real. The new council was short of staff at the start and leaned on PMC for basic services, peak-hour traffic on the Saswad road through Hadapsar is heavy, and the area is near the Uruli Devachi-Fursungi garbage depot. A Hadapsar to Saswad Road metro line received state approval in November 2025 but has not been built.
