Moshi, Pune

Moshi is in the north-east of Pimpri-Chinchwad, where the Pune-Nashik highway crosses the Dehu-Alandi road, with the Indrayani river along its northern side. The old village, Moshi Gaon, has temples such as the Nageshwar temple, and around it the planned sectors of Moshi Pradhikaran and newer housing societies have filled in over the last two decades. Spine Road links the area south-west towards Bhosari and Nigdi.

The employment picture is industrial rather than IT. Bhosari MIDC and the Chakan industrial belt, with its auto and engineering plants, are both within easy reach, and the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sector 5 hosts trade fairs. Housing is mostly mid-budget apartments, and it costs noticeably less than the western PCMC suburbs. IndiProp lists two projects in Moshi: Kasturi Voyage, a 1 BHK project, and Pristine Greens, with 2 and 3 BHK homes.

There are two frequent complaints. The Pune-Nashik highway is heavily used by freight traffic to Chakan, and junctions such as Bharatmata Chowk back up at peak hours. PCMC's Moshi garbage depot is also in the area. After an NGT committee flagged methane emissions and untreated legacy waste there in October 2024, the state pollution control board told PCMC to stop dumping fresh waste and to biomine the old heaps. Metro plans for the northern belt, including MahaMetro's revised Bhakti Shakti to Chakan line through Bhosari, are still on paper. Moshi suits people working in Bhosari, Chakan or the wider PCMC industrial belt who want a larger home for the budget.
