Pimple Gurav, Pune

Pimple Gurav is a Pimpri-Chinchwad neighbourhood on the banks of the Pavana river, in the north-western part of the Pune urban area. Dapodi and Kasarwadi lie to the east and north, Sangvi to the south, Pimple Saudagar to the west and Pimple Nilakh further south-west. It began as a village, and the annual gaon jatra on Hanuman Jayanti still marks that past, but it is now a dense residential area of housing societies and local markets.

Its position between Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad is the main advantage. Aundh is across the river through Sangvi, the Mumbai-Pune highway (NH-48) runs close to the east, and the Purple Line metro stations at Kasarwadi and Phugewadi are within reach, giving a direct ride to Shivajinagar, the District Court interchange and Swargate. Dapodi and Kasarwadi suburban rail stations are also nearby. PCMC has redesigned several main roads here under its urban street projects, with cycle tracks and new street furniture. Rajmata Jijau Garden, known locally as Dinosaur Park for its 40-foot dinosaur statue, is a popular family park.
