At 8.05 am on 15 June 2026, an IndiGo flight from Lucknow touched down at Jewar and Noida International Airport became a working commercial airport. Later that day the same carrier ran the first departure, to Bengaluru. The Prime Minister had inaugurated the airport on 28 March, and after years of "Jewar is coming" in project brochures, it is now an airport with a timetable.

What Noida International Airport offers now

Phase 1 has one runway and one terminal, built for around 12 million passengers a year. The airport is run by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International, and its code is DXN.

IndiGo is the launch airline and said it would gradually connect the airport to more than 16 cities, among them Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai and Srinagar. Akasa Air and Air India Express were expected to follow. International flights weren't part of the launch.

Who this matters to

The airport is in YEIDA's jurisdiction, not the Noida Authority's or Greater Noida's. For buyers, three belts are worth separating:

The airport's direct effect is on jobs and daily travel. Airlines, ground handling, cargo and the businesses that cluster around an airport all need staff who live nearby. That's the demand case for rental and end-use housing on the Yamuna Expressway. For people in Sector 150 or Greater Noida, the gain is simpler: a closer airport for domestic trips, reached by expressway rather than across Delhi.

What buyers get wrong about "airport projects"

Distance to the airport is not the same as convenience. Being very close can mean flight-path noise, and height limits near a runway shape what can be built. Ask where your tower sits relative to the runway approach, and visit at different times of day now that flights are running.

Check the authority as well. A Yamuna Expressway project is approved by YEIDA, not GNIDA, and its RERA registration, land dues and possession history are what count. Look up the UP RERA number before paying any booking amount.

What is still uncertain

International flights. They were reported as expected later in 2026, with no confirmed start date at launch.
Rail and metro links. Several links to the airport have been planned. Check which are actually running before assuming a train commute.
Prices. Plenty of marketing claims that the airport will lift values. There's no registered-sale data yet showing what has happened since June, and IndiProp won't guess.
