Vashi, Navi Mumbai

Vashi is the first node that CIDCO developed in Navi Mumbai in the 1970s, and it is still the city's main commercial and residential hub. It sits on the eastern shore of Thane Creek, directly across from Mankhurd and Chembur, linked to Mumbai by the Vashi bridge on the Sion-Panvel highway. Turbhe and the APMC wholesale markets are to the east, Koparkhairane to the north and Sanpada and Nerul to the south. Vashi is governed by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

The node is laid out in numbered sectors, with a mix of CIDCO-era housing, cooperative societies and newer towers. Daily life is convenient. Inorbit Mall, Palm Beach Galleria and Raghuleela Mall are here, Fortis Hiranandani Hospital serves the area, and the Mini Seashore promenade is a popular evening spot. Vashi station is a terminus on the Harbour line and a stop on the Trans-Harbour line to Thane, so trains run both to CSMT and to Thane. Buyers are established families, business owners and professionals who work in Navi Mumbai, the eastern suburbs or BKC and want a settled neighbourhood. Many older CIDCO buildings are now being redeveloped, which brings new stock but also construction work. The Vashi bridge approach gets congested at peak hours, and the Navi Mumbai International Airport at Ulwe, open for commercial flights since December 2025, is reached by road through the Palm Beach Road and Sion-Panvel corridors.
