Bhartiya Group

The Bhartiya Group began in fashion in 1987, making leather garments and accessories for international brands, and its apparel company, Bhartiya International Ltd, is listed on the BSE and NSE. The group later moved into property through Bhartiya Urban, its real estate and infrastructure company, and a separate arm that develops industrial parks. Bhartiya Urban's main project is Bhartiya City in north Bengaluru, a planned township with an estimated built-up area of close to 17 million sq ft within city limits. The master plan was drawn up with international firms including Perkins Eastman of New York.

Bhartiya City sits off Thanisandra Main Road, a short drive from Manyata Tech Park and Hebbal. It is divided into eight districts, with homes, an IT park inside a special economic zone, a mall, a school and The Leela hotel and convention centre. Its housing is sold under two names. Nikoo Homes is the mid-market brand, built in several numbered phases, and Leela Residences is the higher-priced block beside the hotel. Both projects listed on IndiProp are inside the township, which suits buyers who want shops, schools and offices within walking distance.
